BENGALURU: Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has decided to monetise 2.5 acres of land of railway land at platform road near KSR Bengaluru City railway station.
RLDA has issued a request for proposal for the 'grant of lease for development of 10,128 sq m (about 2.50 acres) of railway land at platform road at KSR Bengaluru city railway station for 99 years. The bids will be opened on March 19. Sources say two prominent builders are keen on the project.
RLDA, which is a statutory authority under railways, is mandated for commercial development of vacant railway lands. “This is a prime property of land. But there are concerns whether private firm handover the land after 99 years as officials keep on changing and there are no proper document keepings” said a railway official. Meanwhile, Byappanahalli station redevelopment plan has been revised and approved by Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) and same was sent to BBMP to include it in master plan. Presently, work on third terminal at Byappanahalli is progressing and IRSDC is likely to take up the work after the terminal is operational by March-end.
